American model Gigi Hadid found herself in a legal situation during her holiday in the Cayman Islands when she and her friend were arrested and fined for cannabis possession.
The incident took place earlier this month when their luggage was searched upon arrival on a private jet.
Hadid, 28, and her friend, Leah McCarthy, pleaded guilty in court and paid the fine, but no conviction was recorded on their records.
According to Hadid's representative, the marijuana was legally purchased in New York with a medical license, and it has been legal for medical use in the Cayman Islands since 2017.
Despite the brief setback, Hadid continued to enjoy her time on the island and shared her beachside getaway photos with her Instagram followers.
The Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control reported that the amount of marijuana found was small, seemingly for personal consumption.
After being detained briefly and released on bail, the pair appeared in the Cayman Islands summary court, where they were fined 1,000 Cayman Islands dollars ($1,200; £920).
