Safe Return: Missing Woman Who Stopped to Help Toddler Found Unharmed

An Alabama woman who disappeared after stopping to assist a stranded toddler on a busy highway has been found alive on Saturday night.

Carlethia "Carlee" Nichole Russell, a 25-year-old nursing student, returned to her home in Hoover, Alabama, and appeared to be in shock.

She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

The Hoover Police Department confirmed her safe return but provided no further details about her two-day disappearance.

Russell went missing on Thursday night while trying to help a wandering toddler on I-459. Despite the initial call to 911 and a subsequent conversation with her sister-in-law, during which a scream was heard, Russell and the child could not be located.

Police found her abandoned car, cell phone, and purse at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released by the authorities.
