Three "Cowards" Charged with Murder in the Death of 9-Year-Old Girl in A Tragic Drive-By Shooting After Unleashing 28 Rounds of Bullets

Two men have been charged with murder while a third is accused of aiding them in concealing their actions, after a tragic drive-by shooting claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl in Silverton, Ohio.

Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey of Hamilton County expressed her disdain for the individuals involved, referring to them as cowards during a press conference on Thursday.

The accused individuals are Ryan Brown, 27, charged with aggravated murder and held on a $2 million bond; Qasseem Dixon, 25, charged with aggravated murder and weapons possession while under disability, held on a bond of 2.6 million; and Demario Williams, 22, charged with carrying concealed weapons and weapons possession while under disability.

During the investigation, law enforcement recovered an AK-47 and two other firearms, with efforts underway to determine which weapons were used to unleash 28 rounds at the residence where the tragic incident occurred.

Sheriff McGuffey emphasized the use of the AK-47, labeling it as a weapon of war.

According to reports from the Cincinnati Enquirer, one of the bullets struck 9-year-old Da'Myiah Barton-Pickens, resulting in her tragic death at The Jewish Hospital.

Demario Williams, the third individual involved, faces charges of carrying concealed weapons and weapons possession while under disability for his involvement in attempting to conceal the crime.

Sheriff McGuffey expressed her anger and heartbreak over the senseless murder, describing it as unspeakable to lose a young girl in such a manner.

She revealed that investigators believe the incident was in retaliation for a potential drug-related issue, although the intended target was not present at the time.

The sheriff also mentioned that the suspects may face additional charges in due course.

Dixon and Williams were involved in a crash while attempting to flee from law enforcement. Although a woman sustained minor injuries when her vehicle was clipped, she is expected to recover.

Brown, on the other hand, was apprehended without incident following his arrest.

Those who knew Da'Myiah remember her as a vibrant, intelligent, and fun-loving girl with contagious energy. She was a cheerleader for the West Side Panthers, a local youth football team.

Her grandfather, Michael Barton Sr., expressed the love she received from everyone, while Joy Warfield, a staff member of Alliance Academy of Cincinnati, described her as a student who was impossible not to adore.
