16-year-old Minenhle Gwala's Murder Trial Update: Durban Court to Hear Alleged Hitman's Confessions in Teen's Murder After Being Hired by the Teen's Mother

In Durban, South Africa, the recorded confessions of alleged hitman Lindumusa Malembe regarding a murder case are set to be heard in court on Monday. 

Malembe is facing trial for the murder of 16-year-old Minenhle Gwala, which occurred in 2021. 

The investigating officer has obtained recordings of Malembe's confession, revealing his plan to assassinate Sthembiso Ndlovu, who happened to be the 16-year-old's father.

However, instead of carrying out the hit on Ndlovu, Malembe allegedly killed Ndlovu's son, Gwala. 

Ndlovu believes that his ex-fiancé, who is also the victims mother, was the one who allegedly hired the hitman.

He hopes that the recordings will lead to her arrest and that she will stand trial alongside the hitman.

It is alleged that five days before Gwala's murder, Malembe informed Ndlovu that he had been paid R35,000 by his ex-fiancé to kill him. 

In response, Ndlovu took Malembe to the KwaDabeka police station to open a case as Malembe claimed he wasn't a killer but had already spent the money paid to him. 

Unfortunately, just days after reporting the conspiracy to commit murder case, Gwala was allegedly killed by Malembe.

Gwala was fatally stabbed in his room while sleeping in the home they shared with their landlord, Ntombifikile Luthuli, who was Malembe's ex-lover. 

According to the State's allegations, Malembe had a conflict with Luthuli and forcibly entered her locked home in February to retrieve his belongings. 

During this incident, Luthuli and Gwala tried to stop Malembe, but he managed to escape.

The State further alleges that on May 9, 2021, Malembe returned to Luthuli's house armed with various tools, including a knife, and gained access. 

He entered the room where Minenhle was sleeping and brutally assaulted and stabbed him multiple times, leading to Minenhle's tragic death at the scene.
