Anambra Police Recover Guns and Abandoned SUV Linked to Suspected Kidnappers



The Anambra Police Command has made a significant discovery after suspected kidnappers abandoned two pump action guns and a Mercedes Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in a ditch. 

The incident occurred during a police patrol along the Uga-Ezinifite Expressway in Aguata Local Government Area of the state. 

Policemen from the Forward Operating Base noticed the vehicle driving at an alarming and suspicious speed, prompting them to give chase.


After a pursuit that covered several kilometers, the police found the Mercedes GLK 350 4matic SUV with the number plate ENU484JV abandoned in a ditch. 

However, no occupants were found inside the vehicle. 

Upon further inspection, the police discovered clothing with blood stains, as well as two pump action guns and a machete inside the SUV.

The authorities immediately took possession of the vehicle and its contents, depositing them at the Area Command Headquarters in Uga for safekeeping. 


DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state Police Public Relations Officer, provided this information in a statement.

The Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye, has taken swift action, ordering a full-scale investigation to identify the owner of the abandoned vehicle. 

The police are determined to uncover the circumstances surrounding this unusual and concerning discovery.
