David Xavier Has Received A Life Sentence For The Death Of His Partner, Whom He Stabbed Over 50 Times Following The End of Their Relationship.

In a shocking incident, a man, David Xavier, aged 38, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for brutally murdering his partner, Andreia Patricia Rodriguez Guilherme, aged 30, who was trying to end their relationship. 

The murder investigation was launched on December 11, 2020, when police were called to their address in Canning Road, Croydon. 

Andreia was found with knife injuries and tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The court heard that David Xavier and Andreia Patricia were in a relationship, and both of them were originally from Madeira, Portugal. 

However, by July 2020, their relationship began to deteriorate. Andreia took steps to end the relationship in December that year, which sparked increased jealousy and anger in Xavier. 

He even tried to prevent her from seeing her own family.

On the night of December 11, Andreia sent recordings of a heated argument with Xavier to a relative. 

The recordings, later recovered from her phone, showed a distressing exchange of insults between the couple. 

In one message, she mentioned that Xavier had picked up a knife, expressing fear for her safety.

Tragically, in the moments following that communication, Xavier attacked Andreia with a kitchen knife, stabbing her more than 50 times. 

After the brutal attack, Xavier called a family member to inform them of Andreia's death. 

When they arrived at the scene, they found Xavier holding the knife while Andreia lay on the bedroom floor, covered in blood. 

Despite immediate medical attention, Andreia could not be saved.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb, who led the investigation, described the attack as horrific and frenzied, leaving Andreia with no chance to defend herself. 

Xavier was found guilty of murder after a trial during which Andreia's family had to relive the night of her death due to Xavier's plea of not guilty.

Justice has been served with Xavier receiving a life sentence, ensuring he will spend a significant portion of his life behind bars. 

Although nothing can bring Andreia back, it is hoped that this sentence provides some measure of comfort to her grieving loved ones.
