Teen Girl, Faith Jeffers Hospitalized in Violent School Brawl Involving Sheriff's Deputy, Mother Seeks Justice for Injured Daughter
A teenage girl found herself in the hospital after a violent brawl at Victor Valley High School in San Bernardino County, California, on Friday night, during a football game. The altercation involved a sheriff's deputy and led to traumatic injuries for the 16-year-old girl named Faith Jeffers.
Authorities were called to the scene as a large fight broke out during the football game. The initial deputy on the scene encountered multiple fights happening simultaneously. Pepper balls were deployed to disperse the crowd, but this didn't prove effective, and the crowd started moving toward the deputy.
When additional deputies arrived, another round of pepper balls was fired into the group. It was during this chaotic moment that Faith Jeffers reportedly grabbed the pepper ball launcher from one of the deputies.
A struggle ensued, and the deputy allegedly body-slammed Jeffers to the ground, causing her significant injuries.
Amidst the commotion, a 16-year-old boy named Anthony Smiler punched the deputy in the face, resulting in his arrest.
Faith Jeffers Hospitalised after the incident
Faith Jeffers suffered head and spine trauma along with a fractured shoulder from the force of the deputy's actions. Her mother, Priscilla Jeffers, described the incident as a shocking display of police brutality and expressed her desire for justice as she joined other protesters

The altercation arose from alleged bullying of Faith by another girl from a different high school who came to confront her at the football game.
Priscilla Jeffers intends to take legal action against the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. However, the sheriff's department claims the deputy was the victim in this case.
On the other side, Anthony Smiler's mother, Kelani Lynch, insists her son's innocence and is deeply upset about the situation. She is seeking information about her son's whereabouts.
As Faith remains in the hospital, her loved ones grapple with the aftermath of this distressing incident. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Victorville Police Department or the Sheriff’s Dispatch.
