Ladarius Morshun Brownlee, 28, shot his girlfriend in the face during a heated argument.

He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three counts of dangerous behavior.

The disturbing incident happened in the early hours of July 4.

Police received a distress call at approximately 12:50 a.m. about a shooting on Flower Mound Road.

When officers got to the scene, they found a 28-year-old woman lying in the road near a vehicle.

The victim was rushed to the hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.

She was later identified as Brownlee’s girlfriend, Zahra Hashemi.

The couple, known for their joint TikTok account “denoandzahra,” had shared many moments of their relationship online.

After the shooting, their TikTok page surprisingly gained millions of views and likes.

Witnesses to the shooting reported that Brownlee and his girlfriend had a “heated argument” while walking home from the Flower Mound Independence Fest.

Witnesses saw the couple fighting before they drove away in a car.

As they continued their argument inside the vehicle, Brownlee suddenly stopped the car at the 1800 block of Flower Mound Road.

He then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the back of the car before shooting his girlfriend in the face, just above her right eye.

Following the shooting, one of the witnesses called 911.

During the call, Brownlee admitted to the operator that he had shot his girlfriend.

When questioned by the police, Brownlee confessed to the crime, as noted in the affidavit.

Witnesses also reported that Brownlee and his girlfriend’s relationship had a history of verbal and physical violence.

Brownlee, known to have addresses in Irving and Northlake, remained in Denton County jail as of Wednesday.

His bond has been set at a staggering $900,000.

It remains unclear if he has secured legal representation.

A spokesperson for the Flower Mound police confirmed that the victim was still hospitalized and is recovering.
