An emotional Kincy newsmen, "I walked in calling out 'Charlotte, Charlotte,' but got no response. I then went to the kitchen, where she had mentioned doing dishes, and found her lying on the floor."
However, investigators think Kincy used a blade and a screwdriver to stab Nicholas, a
retired nurse from Maine, over 70 times.
They also believe she sold Nicholas's jewelry at a local pawn shop.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, Kincy was arrested and held in jail without bond.
She faced charges of murdering Nicholas and dealing in stolen property, among other offenses.

Authorities soon discovered that Nicholas had been having issues with her neighbor after speaking with the victim's out-of-state fiancé.
They found numerous text messages from Nicholas to Kincy saying, "Leave me alone."
According to news reports, Nicholas had reportedly texted Kincy not to come over.
Another message Nicholas sent to Kincy read, "Stop. What do you want? Leave me alone."
Further investigation showed that Kincy, wearing bloodstained clothes, went to a pawn shop on the day of the killing.
The shop was five blocks from the murder scene, and she sold the victims rings there.
The Victims fiancé identified the rings as jewelry he had given to Nicholas.
Surveillance video from the pawn shop showed Kincy wearing a blood stained shirt further implicating her.
The police report noted that crime scene photos showed a stain on Kincy's shirt.
This stain matched the shape and location of a stain found at the crime scene.
Investigators also noted that an online newspaper story posted the day after the killing quoted Kincy as saying she thought her friend had been stabbed.
At that point, the police had not revealed the manner of death to the public and believed only the killer would know it.
Nicholas' loved ones said they were heartbroken over her death.
Nicholas loved the outdoors and her family, relatives, and friends said.
There is no more information available about Kincy after her initial arrest, but she is presumed to be serving time for the crime in a correctional facility.
