Remains Found On Thanksgiving Morning in Marion County, Identified as Missing Teenager, Mai Sai Vue

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office has positively identified the remains of an 18-year-old Sacramento woman, Mai Sai Vue.

She had been missing since Halloween. 

Vue's body was discovered on Thanksgiving morning along the shoreline of Point San Pedro near McNears Beach in San Rafael, Marin County. 

What Happened To Mai Sai Vue?

On October 31, 2024, Mai Sai Vue was last seen near Grove and Larkin streets in San Francisco.

This was after she attended a concert with friends and family. 

She never returned home, and her family reported her missing. 

Nearly a month later, on November 28, at 10:27 a.m., her lifeless body was found in a hard-to-reach location by the San Pablo Bay waters. 

The Marin County Search and Rescue Team, along with other first responders, recovered her remains.

Due to the challenging conditions of the environment and the extended exposure of her body to the elements, forensic investigations were necessary to confirm her identity.

Investigation Update

At this time, investigators from the San Francisco Police Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office have not found any signs of foul play. 

However, a forensic postmortem examination and toxicology tests are pending to determine the cause of death.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Department shared their condolences:
"The Marin County Sheriff's Office and personnel of the Coroner Division offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Vue."

This tragic discovery brings a sense of closure to her loved ones but also raises questions about the circumstances leading to her death.
