The Shocking Discovery

In June 2023, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department responded to a disturbing call from Amada Stamper, who was Travis Doss’s partner at the time.

Officers arrived at a one-bedroom extended-stay unit to find six children home alone, two of whom were locked in a dog cage.

The oldest child was just 11 years old.

Body camera footage captured the heartbreaking moment officers rescued the children, all of whom showed visible signs of abuse and neglect.

According to the Clark County District Attorney’s office, preliminary investigations revealed a pattern of abuse dating back to 2019.

The children, who were not enrolled in school, had been isolated from the outside world, leaving them with no one to turn to.

This disturbing discovery marked the beginning of a criminal investigation that exposed a disturbing tale of abuse.

What Did Travis Doss Do?

Travis Doss, an aspiring rapper known as “Trap Montana,” has been accused of multiple disturbing crimes.

According to police reports, Doss kept one of his children locked in a dog cage for five days without food, leaving the child severely malnourished.

During this period, Doss sent a chilling text message to Amanda Stamper, with a photo of the malnourished child, claiming he had killed him.

Miraculously, the child survived.

As reported by 8NewsNow, Doss also exploited Amanda Stamper, with whom he already had one child.

However, despite her claims of being a victim of Doss’s abuse, she was also arrested and charged with failing to protect the children.

According to criminal investigators, Amanda only reported the abuse when she found out that Doss cheated on her.

Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Dena Rinetti emphasized the gravity of the situation.

“Every single day, the defendant failed to protect her six stepchildren. Her actions and her inactions will affect these children for the rest of their lives.”

Legal Proceedings

The legal proceedings in this case have been as complex as they are heartbreaking.

Amanda Stamper pleaded guilty to three felony counts of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment in December 2023.

She was ultimately sentenced to 7-18 years in prison in February 2024.

Her defense attorney, Caesar Almase, argued that she was a victim of Doss’s abuse and not thinking rationally.

However, the judge noted that Stamper had the means to seek help but chose not to.

Travis Doss, on the other hand, continues to fight his case.

Initially, he was found not competent to stand trial in July 2024 and was sent to a behavioral health facility for evaluation.

But by December 2024, a judge found him competent to stand trial.

Doss faces a litany of charges, including child abuse, kidnapping, and sex trafficking.

His next court appearance is scheduled for February 19, 2025.

As the legal proceedings continue, the focus remains on the six children whose lives were forever changed by the actions—and inactions—of those who were supposed to protect them.
