In Los Angeles, a man has entered a guilty plea for a federal criminal charge, confessing to a carjacking and eight armed robberies at gas stations and convenience stores across Los Angeles County in April.
Namir Malik Ali Greene, aged 23, pleaded guilty to one count of Hobbs Act robbery.
As per his admission, on the morning of April 4, Greene committed a robbery at a Marina del Rey gas station.
After making a purchase and waiting until all other customers had left, he placed a brown paper bag on the counter and instructed the clerk to fill it with everything.
While demanding the money, Greene brandished what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun, later revealed to be a BB gun. Fearing for their safety, the clerk emptied the cash register, providing Greene with $700 before he fled the store.
In his plea, Greene acknowledged committing seven additional armed robberies between April 4 and April 8 at gas stations and convenience stores located in Long Beach, Whittier, South Los Angeles, Pomona, and Culver City.
He also admitted to a carjacking on April 15, during which he stole a 2010 Honda Accord while armed with a BB gun.
Greene has been in federal custody since April 18.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 29, where Greene may face a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison, as determined by United States District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett.
