Wylie Police Arrest Alleged Drug Dealer Accused of Using Uber Driver to Deliver Fentanyl, Leading to Overdose Death

Kennedy Kirby, 30, initially charged with drug dealing, now faces a murder charge for allegedly using an unsuspecting Uber driver to deliver fentanyl, leading to a young man's overdose death in Wylie, Texas.

Authorities revealed on Facebook that Jacob Bowers' January 11th overdose and subsequent toxicology report led them to Kirby.

Their investigation uncovered a chilling scheme: Kirby allegedly used an Uber driver, unaware of the package's contents, to deliver fentanyl to Bowers. This tragic death highlights the dangers of fentanyl and the lengths some go to distribute it.

The arrest wasn't Kirby's only comeuppance. Police raided his apartment, seizing a massive amount of fentanyl – enough to raise serious concerns.

They found over 22 grams of raw fentanyl, thousands of counterfeit prescription pills laced with the deadly drug, and various drug paraphernalia, a handgun, and cash.

Police Chief Anthony Henderson emphasized the department's commitment to tackling the fentanyl crisis, stating, "We will hold those responsible for placing fentanyl in our community accountable." Kirby currently awaits his fate in Collin County Detention Facility.
