Maryland Man Keanan Turner Found Guilty of Ambushing, Murdering Ex and Her Family, and Attempting to Set Baby on Fire
A man from Maryland has been found guilty of murder.
This comes more than three years after he tried to set his own child on fire and killed the child's mother and grandmother in a shooting spree.
In April 2021, Ebony Wright and her mother, Wanda Wright, were killed by Ebony’s ex-boyfriend, Keanan Turner, 34.
This was after he arranged to meet his newborn for the first time on April 12, 2021.
He also shot Ebony’s sister in the face and attempted to set the infant on fire during the attack in Washington, D.C.
During the investigation, authorities found that Ebony and Turner had been in a relationship when she became pregnant.
According to official documents, Turner asked Ebony to terminate the pregnancy, but she refused.
As a result, he cut off all communication with her.
After Ebony gave birth, she sued Turner for child support in a D.C. court.
In response, Turner contacted her and requested to “meet his child for the first time.”
At the time, the infant was only 4 months old.
They arranged to meet at Ebony’s home in Washington, D.C., where her mother, Wanda Wright, and her sister were also present.

Turner and the Wright family members, along with the newborn, had been together in the home for an hour before Turner began his rampage.
He first shot Ebony in the head, then her mother, Wanda, in the back of her head.
He then moved to one of the bedrooms and shot Ebony's sister in the face.
Before leaving the apartment, Turner set the custody paperwork on fire in an attempt to burn the child.
Authorities later identified him because he showed a unique arm tattoo while trying to remove a ring camera as he was leaving the apartment.
Thankfully, Ebony's sister, who was still alive, heard her nephew crying from the next room.
In a brave act of heroism, she managed to get him out of the apartment before calling the authorities.
Turner was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, assault with intent to kill, aggravated assault, attempted murder of a minor, cruelty to children, arson, and destruction of property.
He is set to be sentenced in October and could face a maximum of life in prison.
