Kentucky Tragedy: Daughter Arrested After Mother’s Body Found Dismembered and Cooked

A woman from Kentucky has been arrested.

She was apprehended after authorities discovered her mother’s dismembered body in her home earlier this week.

The victim has been identified by news outlets as Trudy Fields.

She was found dead in her Robertson County, Kentucky home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, according to a statement from the Kentucky State Police (KSP).

Although police did not officially release the victim’s name, the details were confirmed by multiple sources, including WKYT, the Courier Journal, and LEX 18.

The victim's daughter, 32-year-old Torilena May Fields, was taken into custody after allegedly barricading herself in the home for nearly 12 hours.

This came after an initial attempt by authorities to contact her, according to KSP reports.

The grusome discovery was made when a man hired by Trudy arrived at the residence to work on the property.

When no one answered the door, the man went around to the backyard, where he found the dismembered body, according to numerous reports.

The man, who contacted authorities, also mentioned seeing a pile of hair he believed belonged to the victim, as noted by WCPO and Local 12.

The witness told police he had been at the house the previous day.

He said he saw Torilena acting strangely, including "casting spells" and being confrontational.

Despite multiple attempts by troopers to contact Torilena, she did not respond.

Police then obtained a search warrant and headed to her house themselves.

When Torilena eventually came out of the house, she was reportedly covered in blood, as confirmed by KSP officials.

Inside the house, police discovered a blood-stained mattress near Trudy's body.

The mattress was folded, and officers found several body parts and organs inside, according to FOX 19 and the Courier Journal.

Further investigation inside the home led police to uncover additional body parts.

However, these unidentified parts appeared to have been cooked in the oven and in a pot that was still warm, based on court records reported by WKYT, the Courier Journal, and FOX 19.

Torilena has been charged with obstructing governmental operations, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse, according to the KSP.

Police indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

As of now, court records do not show any plea or attorney information for Torilena.
