"I really don’t know what to do .. but I need help before I lose my life or freedom! My kids need me!"
She posted it around 6 p.m. on June 14, and it turned out to be her final cry for help.
Just a few hours later, police were called to her home on 5th Avenue in Twin City because of a domestic disturbance.
When they arrived, they found Zaria unconscious, and Sadly, she was later confirmed dead.
Police put out an alert for Zaria’s 2021 Dodge Challenger, which was missing from her home.
The car was later seen in Wayne County.
When deputies tried to stop it, Shamarcus — who was behind the wheel — shot himself inside the car.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but didn’t survive.
Shamarcus was known on Facebook as "Thè Frenchman," where he had about 44,000 followers and posted about French bulldogs.
According to court records, Shamarcus previously spent 5 years in prison for aggravated assault, firearms and drug charges in 2012, as reported by WTOC News.
At one point during the livestream, Shamarcus threatened, "If I get off this live, you ain’t gonna make it out the door."
But Zaria kept complaining abut the relationship, and then, Shamarcus stepped out of the camera’s view.
That’s when Zaria nervously asked, "What, you about to stab me?"
Moments later, the livestream suddenly ended — and according GBI, Zaria Carr was physically assaulted before she was fatally shot by her husband, Shamarcus Jameal Carr.
According to online reports, the tragedy happened just after the couple welcomed their newborn baby, and they already had another child together before this.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is handling Zaria’s case, while the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigates Shamarcus’s suicide.
"Domestic violence often escalates behind closed doors, but in this case, the warning signs were public. It’s a tragic reminder that threats should never be ignored." — Dr. Linda Parker, Domestic Violence Advocate
