In Romania, social media influencer Andrew Tate, who is facing charges of rape and human trafficking, has won an appeal for release from house arrest.
However, he cannot leave the country and must stay away from other defendants, witnesses, and alleged victims.
The decision was made by the Bucharest Court of Appeal after prosecutors formally charged Andrew Tate, along with his brother and two Romanian women, in June.
All four were arrested in December near Bucharest and have denied the allegations.
The court ordered geographical restrictions, limiting their movement to Bucharest Municipality and nearby Ilfov County, unless approved by a judge.
If they break these rules, they might be sent back to house arrest or preventive arrest.
Andrew Tate, known for his conspiracy theories online, stated his innocence and claimed a political conspiracy against him.
The case alleges that they formed a criminal group to commit human trafficking in Romania, the United States, and Britain.
Prosecutors claimed seven female victims were lured with false love promises, trafficked to Romania, and subjected to sexual exploitation and violence.
One defendant is accused of raping a woman twice in March 2022.
Andrew Tate was previously banned from social media for his hate speech and misogynistic comments.
In Britain, several women are pursuing civil claims against him for sexual violence.
Prosecutors have confiscated the Tate brothers' assets, including luxury cars, watches, and about $3 million in cryptocurrency.
In another tragic case, a man has been sentenced to a minimum of 24 years in prison for killing a mentally unstable woman, and raping her dead body. See shocking details here
