Nikita Casap: Tennager Accused of Killing Parents and Living with Their Bodies For Weeks in Waukesha, Wisconsin

A Wisconsin teenager killed his mother and stepfather, then lived with their bodies in the family home for nearly two weeks, according to police reports.

On February 28, 2025, authorities found the lifeless bodies of Tatiana Casap, 35, and her husband Donald Mayer, 51, in their home in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Their 17-year-old son, Nikita Casap, is now facing serious charges for their murder.

Authorities have described this true crime story as one of the most disturbing cases they've ever encountered.

Here is what we know so far.

The Chilling Discovery

According to the New York Post, this tragedy came to light when Donald Mayer's mother called the police for a welfare check on her son.

She had not heard from him for several weeks so she was worried about his wellbeing.

Also, the few text messages she recently received from Donald's phone didn't sound like him.

When officers from the local police department entered the family's home, they found the couple dead.

Tatiana's body lay in a hallway, carefully covered with blankets and towels.

Donald was found in his home office, hidden under piles of clothing.

Both victims had been shot mercilessly.

Based on the condition of the dead bodies, crime scene investigators estimated they'd been dead for roughly two weeks.

The smell of decomposition filled the house, but shockingly, their teenage son was reportedly living there the entire time.

Details of The Brutal Murder

According to police reports, Nikita Casap shot his mother three times on February 11 - twice in the stomach and once in the neck.

He then killed his stepfather Donald with a single gunshot to the back of the head.

What happened next is perhaps even more disturbing than the murders themselves.

Instead of calling for help, Nikita allegedly continued his normal life, as reported by NBC News.

He even went to school the next day like nothing had happened.

He slept in the house, ate meals there, and moved around the bodies as if they weren't there.

At one point, criminal investigators say he even recorded disturbing videos of Donald's decomposing body.

He also made chilling comments about the rotting process of his father's body in the videos he recorded.

"So you can see him there. I can literally see the fucking rotting body," said Nikita in his video.

For nearly two weeks, Nikita managed to hide the terrible truth.

He allegedly sent texts from his parents' phones to make it look like they were still alive.

According to the New York Post, he even messaged Donald's employer to explain his absence.

Failed Escape Attempt

On February 23, 2025, Nikita Casap stole his father's car and ran away from Wisconsin.

He took with him the murder weapon, the family dog, and $14,000 cash which he stole from his parents.

He made it all the way to Kansas before being pulled over for running a stop sign on February 28, 2025.

This was also the exact same day that police back in Wisconsin discovered his parents' bodies.

During the traffic stop, officers noticed a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver in plain sight.

This was the same type of gun used to kill Donald and Tatiana.

A search of the car revealed even more damning evidence: the victims' driver's licenses, unused ammunition, and spent shell casings matching those found at the crime scene.

He was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

As criminal investigators dug deeper, they uncovered even more chilling details.

They found disturbing messages where Nikita talked with someone in Russia about violent plans, including a specific threat to kill Donald Trump.

The chats also showed Nikita asking how loud his stepfather's .357 Magnum would sound when fired—the exact same gun he later used to shoot his mother and stepfather.

A classmate also told police that Nikita had sent them Snapchat messages where he joked about shooting his parents weeks before the murders.

Finally, criminal investigations revealed that he had plans of running to Ukraine or Russia after the killings.

Police say these messages, combined with his interest in fleeing, showed he'd been planning violence long before that terrible night in February.

Those who knew the family were struggling to make sense of what happened.

Teachers describe Nikita as a quiet student with "perfect attendance" who never caused trouble.

Neighbors say the family seemed perfectly normal, with no signs of the horror that unfolded.

Legal Proceedings

After police arrested Nikita Casap in Kansas he was charged with stealing his father's car and the illegal possession of a firearm.

But after he returned to Wisconsin, prosecutors filed more serious homicide and related charges.

Nikita Casap is currently facing seven criminal charges for the alleged killing of his parents and subsequent actions.

Prosecutors have charged him with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the deaths of Tatiana Casap and Donald Mayer.

These murder charges carry mandatory life sentences in Wisconsin.

Additionally, he faces two counts of hiding a corpse for allegedly concealing his parents' bodies under household items.

The prosecution also charged him with one count of theft for taking more than $10,000 in cash and property from his parents, and two counts of misappropriating personal identification documents to obtain money.

Nikita remains in custody on $1 million bail.

He is expected to appear in court on April 9, 2025, for his next hearing.
