Jared Cordum was a licensed occupational therapist living in Clovis, New Mexico.
His job involved visiting families at their home to give therapy to children with disabilities.
Parents initially trusted him, thinking he was helping, but his sessions quickly became disturbing.
According to KRQE, Cordum told the young boys, mostly children, to undress, pretending it was for medical reasons.
Once they were naked, he touched them inappropriately, and lied that it was part of their therapy.
The abuse went on until some parents noticed strange behavior and pulled their children out of his care.
They reported him to the police in early 2023 because they knew something was wrong,
Criminal investigators later uncovered that Cordum had exploited at least four boys under the age of 13.
The New Mexico Attorney General’s Office said he used his job to gain trust and avoid any suspicions.
"When we got into the details, it was fairly shocking and obvious that this individual had taken advantage of his position," said New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez.
Authorities confirmed that Cordum not only engaged in direct sexual abuse but also produced child pornography and committed voyeurism.
He was eventually arrested after a swift criminal investigation, with evidence showing a clear pattern of manipulation.

Torrez urged other families to come forward if they suspect abuse.
“If you have an instinct that someone, regardless of their position or the fact that they may be identified as a medical professional. If you think they’ve engaged in inappropriate behavior, please report that to law enforcement,” he said.
The New Mexico Department of Justice is now reviewing Cordum’s past to identify other potential victims.
“My primary concern is parents who were referred to this individual acting in good faith, trying to do the best for their children. And thinking that the person that they were dealing with was not just a qualified medical person, but an ethical person,” said Torrez.
For now, authorities encourage anyone with information to contact their local police department.
