Warning: This Post Contains Distressing Details

A Cleveland mother, says her 5-year-old daughter was brutally assaulted by other children on September 13, 2025.

The incident has reportedly left the young girl physically and emotionally scarred, and her family are currently seeking justice for their daughter.

The heartbroken mother, Antavia Kennibrew, has now come forward to the public for help after what she described as inaction from authorities.

She says that authorities are telling her that two of the alleged child attackers cannot be charged due to their young ages, and for her, this is injustice for her lovely daughter.

According to Kennibrew, the sad incident reportedly happened while her daughter was staying at a trusted family member's home in the area of 145th Street in St. Clair, while she went out for a medical procedure.

"I got a phone call from my family member stating that my daughter walked out of her house and she couldn’t find her anywhere and that the authorities were contacted," the mother recounted in her Facebook post about the incident

She said she was immediately filled with panic so she rushed to the scene, but what she reportedly found was every parent’s worst nightmare.

Tragically, she saw her daughter, A'marie, unresponsive and brutally injured inside an EMS truck.

"I found my daughter unresponsive, bloody with her hair pulled from her scalp, her body covered in bruises... her neck showing signs of strangulation," the mother said in her Facebook post. "My daughter did not look like herself. She was traumatized."

According to the mother, a group of three children, aged 8, 9, and 10, approached her daughter, presenting themselves as friendly.

They then led the five-year-old by the hand to a field far from the home where the situation reportedly turned violent.

The mother states that the older children allegedly ripped her daughter’s hair out, strangled the 5-year-old with her own shirt, and beat her until she was unconscious.

She also says that her daughter was raped during the attack, and that the suspects also inserted sticks into her daughter’s private area.

The attackers allegedly left her naked in the field, covered in urine and debris, believing they had killed her.

According to mother, while they were still searching for the girl, a family member approached two of the alleged attackers, who lived on her street, and asked if they had seen Amarie.

"They stared at her with no remorse and told her no and continued playing knowing what they had just done to my daughter," the mother stated.

However, after a short while, the same two children returned with their mother and this time, they revealed they knew where Amarie was and led the family to the field.

"If them two kids' mother did not make them boys go back to my family member and let her know where my daughter was at, my baby wouldn’t be found right now. My baby wouldn’t be alive," said the heartbroken mother.

According Kennibrew, only one of the alleged attackers, the 10-year-old child, may face charges due to their age.

However, the mother has been told that the 8 and 9-year-old suspects cannot be charged under Ohio law, which sets a minimum age for juvenile prosecution.

Frustrated by the lack of progress, the family is now seeking public support.

"I am bringing this to the media today because the authorities are failing my daughter," the mother said in her post.

"They are trying to tell me that two of the kids can’t and won’t be charged because they are 8, and 9 years old even though they attempted to murder my baby and they raped and beat her."

The mother has described her child as "completely traumatized" and "not the same" after the incident.

"She is having behavioral problems. She is mentally not OK," the mother shared. "She is saying suicidal things... she hates talking about what happened to her."

The mother firmly believes that the children and their parents need to be held accountable for the actions that have shattered their lives.

"This is not gossip. This is not a funny matter. This is our life," the mother pleaded. "Please help us."

The Cleveland police confirmed the incident in this Facebook post, saying:

"The Cleveland Division of Police is aware of a post recently shared regarding an ongoing case. The Division’s Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit is actively investigating a matter involving multiple children under the age of 10, both as victims and as suspects.

Due to the sensitive nature of this case, releasing additional information at this time could jeopardize the integrity of the investigation and compromise the privacy and constitutional rights of those involved"

A GoFundMe titled "Justice for A'marie" has been established to support the family with medical and legal expenses as they continue their difficult journey toward healing and justice.
