Mystery Surrounds Deaths of Two Models, Maleesa Mooney and Nichole Coats, in the Same LA Neighborhood as LAPD Seeks Answers

In a puzzling and tragic turn of events, two models have been discovered lifeless in their upscale residences within the same neighborhood, all unfolding within a span of just one week.

The Los Angeles Police Department has initiated a homicide inquiry into the demise of 31-year-old Maleesa Mooney, whose life came to a tragic end on September 12 in her downtown LA apartment. 

Meanwhile, the passing of another model, 32-year-old Nichole Coats, which occurred on September 10 in her luxurious residence within the same vicinity, is not currently being treated as a homicide, despite lingering suspicions within her family.

Maleesa's familial ties include her sister, Guyanese pop sensation Jourdin Pauline. 

Concerned about Maleesa's unresponsiveness to phone calls and a peculiar shift from blue to green text messages on her iPhone, her family promptly contacted the authorities for a wellness check. Bailey Bobb, Maleesa's cousin, revealed that Maleesa had refrained from answering phone calls for an entire week.

Jourdin Pauline, who boasts a substantial following of 1.3 million on Instagram, shared a heartfelt tribute to her sister on social media. In her post, the pop star expressed her deep sorrow and described Maleesa as a kind-hearted and easygoing individual. 

She also pledged to seek justice for her sister.

Amid the grief and uncertainty, Maleesa's passing remains a distressing enigma, while suspicions surrounding Nichole's demise persist. Nichole's family members, their eyes filled with tears, vehemently dispute the notion that her death was not a result of foul play.

Nichole's aunt, May Stevens, recounted her shock at the sight of her niece's lifeless body and articulated her belief that Nichole had met a tragic end through foul play. She described the distressing scene, with one of Nichole's legs in an elevated, kicking position, which seemed inconsistent with a peaceful passing.

Sharon, Nichole's mother, provided a harrowing account of the gruesome and bloodstained scene where her daughter's life was abruptly cut short. To support Nichole's burial expenses, a GoFundMe page had already garnered over £9,470 by Saturday night.

The Coats family conveyed their grief through a heartfelt message: "It is with a heavy heart that we write this in regards to the recent passing of Nichole Maria Coats, fondly remembered by many as Nikki, on 9/10/2023. 

Nikki’s vibrant personality was one that touched and affected everyone she crossed paths with." They described Nichole as a remarkable daughter, friend, and soul, expressing their shock and inability to prepare for this tragic loss.

Officer Drake Madison of the LAPD remained perplexed about the circumstances of Nichole's passing and had no definitive information regarding the cause of death. He indicated that no evidence of homicide or other crimes had surfaced to date.

Lt. Ricardo Lopez of the coroner's office confirmed the time and place of Nichole's passing and underscored that an "active investigation" is underway to determine the cause of her untimely demise. 

Currently, the cause of death remains deferred, awaiting the results of an autopsy.

In an official release, the LAPD has sought assistance from the public in uncovering the individuals responsible for Maleesa's tragic passing. Her exact cause of death remains shrouded in mystery, pending further examination.
